Digital Alerts Debut at CES 2022

Jan 17, 2022

The Consumer Electronics Show, more commonly known as CES, is one of the largest and most anticipated technology shows in the world. Every year, companies of all sizes come to CES to unveil groundbreaking innovations and new technologies.

At this year's show, global automaker Stellantis - the manufacturer of well-known automotive brands including Dodge, RAM, Chrysler, and Jeep - debuted a new safety feature for its vehicles. EVAS, which stands for Emergency Vehicle Alert System, notifies drivers in the vehicle with a digital alert when they are near an active emergency vehicle or other hazard.

Stellantis EVAS alerts will be available in North America on select models of 2018-and-newer Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, RAM, and Alfa Romeo vehicles as standard feature included with Stellantis' UConnect service. Drivers with the EVAS feature will receive in-dash alerts as they approach emergency vehicles, tow trucks, work zones, school busses, and other fleets equipped with HAAS Alert's service Safety Cloud. Watch the video below to see footage of these alerts from the floor of the show.

As seen in the video above, Stellantis EVAS alerts will lower the volume of whatever media is playing in the vehicle and deliver a soft chime along with a message alerting the driver to the nearby emergency vehicle. These alerts give drivers advance warning of potentially hazard incidents and vehicles and provide more time for motorists to safely slow down and move over.
