HAAS Alert's work with the city of Grand Rapids was selected as one of the top 50 Smart City projects in the United States.
In their third year, the Smart 50 Awards review committee – comprised of Smart Cities Connect, US Ignite, and Smart Cities Connect Foundation – proudly announce the 2020 Smart 50 Award recipients. These municipal-scale projects exemplify innovation and concrete influence in their community or communities or implementation. Finalists will receive honors at an awards gala to be held on April 6, 2020 in Denver, Colorado.
“If there is evidence of our changing world, it can be found in the caliber and increasing reach of smart projects submitted to the Smart 50 Awards, annually,” said Laura Benold, managing editor, Smart Cities Connect Media & Research. “We are honored that so many global cities and their partners took time to share their process, and we are eager to celebrate with them in Denver in April!”
The 2020 Smart 50 Awards honor projects in five categories: community engagement, digital transformation, smart mobility, urban infrastructure, and urban operations. Applicants must have achieved results at a municipal scale or equivalent to qualify.
“US Ignite works with so many communities looking to solve problems using new technology, and part of our job is to identify and elevate the success stories when they happen,” said Joe Kochan, CEO, US Ignite. “This program is designed to do just that, and we’re proud to support the Smart 50 Awards in celebrating innovation and recognizing the value of community efforts to ensure sustainable growth and improve quality of life.”
